Scientists have forever estimated that a large sum of Earth’s primary productivity happens in the ocean. However, scattered measurements could not provide an dependable estimate for the ocean. Now, data collected by these robotic floats “will allow scientists to more accurately estimate how carbon flows from the atmosphere to the ocean and shed new light on the global carbon cycle.”
